Muscari belongs to the Hyacinthaceae family. Here the Latin word 'muscus' (musky) is responsible for the naming. A number of cultivars give off a similar scent. The muscari is popularly known as the 'blue grape hyacinth' and is also frequently used in forcing as a cut flower or in pots!
