Sustainable Personnel Policy
Our Commitment to People and Long-Term Employability POLICY
Platform Education, Business and Government
We are an active participant in the collaborative platform between the three key sectors—Education, Business, and Government. This initiative aims to establish, expand, and strengthen a sustainable and resilient network that contributes to a strong local economy. The focus lies on increasing the number of certified training companies, improving internship alignment and supervision, filling job vacancies, and creating practice-based training programs with social relevance.
Pilot Company in the “knowledge power” project
The flower bulb sector—including our company—is facing a growing number of aging employees and temporary workers. So how do we ensure that valuable knowledge is retained within our organization and the broader industry? Knowledge is power. As one of six pilot companies, we are actively involved in the Kenniskracht project. Our goal: to help employees remain healthy, motivated, and fulfilled in their work up until retirement. In 2018, employees and management participated in several key workshops and sessions:
Workshop: Sustainable Employability
This workshop served as the starting point for developing a company-wide approach to sustainable employability. Based on the insights gained, we created a tailored action plan. This included a situation analysis and a proposal for specific measures and activities that best suit our company and its people.
Motivation Workshop ("Drijfverensessie")
This two-hour interactive session helps employees explore what motivates them to stay healthy, skilled, energized, and engaged—both in work and in life. Participants gain insight into their personal drivers and how to influence them positively. Awareness of these drivers forms the foundation for lasting behavior change.
Vitality Scan
The vitality scan raises awareness about the importance of health and long-term employability. It provides insight into an employee’s current vitality, along with a five-year forecast, and offers personalized tips to improve well-being and energy levels.
Individual Coaching
Several employees have taken part—or are currently participating—in one-on-one coaching sessions tailored to their individual development needs.
Seniors Employee Program
To support older employees, the social partners in the flower bulb wholesale sector have introduced a senior employee scheme. This program allows older staff to reduce their working hours by 20% (one day per week) while retaining 90% of their gross salary.
